End-to-end IECEx and ATEX services under one roof

KL Certification Services (KLCS), a division of Karandikar Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., is India’s first IECEx Certification Body (ExCB) under the IECEx Certified Equipment Scheme.

KL Exert Certification, a division of Exert Certification Norway, is accredited as a Notified Body (No. 3057) for the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU by Norwegian accreditation.

Together, this enables Karandikar Laboratories to issue IECEx and ATEX certificates within a single test cycle, helping manufacturers achieve faster access to European and global hazardous area markets.

Process of obtaining an IECEx certification

Upon receipt of a successful application, KL Certification Services (KLCS) undertakes
the following steps:

Design Review & Sample Evaluation
Detailed examination of technical documentation is carried out, followed by the identification and testing of representative sample configurations in accordance with applicable 60079/80079 standards.
Testing & Assessment
Comprehensive Ex testing is performed by qualified experts, resulting in the generation of IECEx Test Reports (ExTRs).
Quality System Audit

An audit of the manufacturer’s quality management and production processes is conducted, leading to the issuance of a Quality Assurance Report (QAR).

Certification & Publication
Upon successful completion, the IECEx Certificate is issued and published in the international IECEx online database, where they can be viewed and downloaded for reference.
The IECEx and ATEX certificates will be issued based on a single round of testing and quality assessment, eliminating the need for additional testing or audits and enabling a faster, more cost-effective certification process.
